New results from astrophysics have radically changed our understanding of neutron stars and supernovae, specifically SN1987A. In this talk, I will describe some of these results and the implications they have for BSM physics. I will use constraining the axion-muon coupling as an example to illustrate how these results influence the ongoing hunt for new physics, ultimately placing a robust bound six orders of magnitude stronger than existing limits.
