The Coordinator, Facilities Events and Operations is responsible for ensuring that space, facilities and furniture needs are met to support all inhouse events and day to day operations at the highest level. Reporting to the Project Lead, Facilities Space Planning and Design, the Coordinator, Facilities Event and Operations plays a critical role ensuring all residents and visitors of Perimeter have first rate event and operations service to support the Institute’s goals, mission and culture.
What You’ll Do:
Event Coordination
- Coordinates timely communication and support services for events, ensuring facility requirements are met.
- Manages the event calendar, oversees setup and takedown logistics, coordinates contractors for additional programming, and assists with furniture moves as needed.
Operations
- Manages operations help tickets related to furniture, housing, events, cleaning, and security
- Maintains and repairs office furniture inventory
- Prepares purchase orders and verifies invoices
- Oversees cleaning and exterior maintenance programs, including special services and waste management
- Participates in the On Call Program and Health & Safety Committee
- Performs routine building checks and supports the Facilities Project Lead as needed
Visitor and Student Housing
- Coordinates visitor housing logistics, including special requests and quality control, in collaboration with Visitor Services and Training Programs
- Manages procurement and inventory of furnishings and supplies within budget
- Oversees annual audits, upgrades, and contractor coordination
What You Bring:
- Proven experience in building operations, including budgeting and coordination
- Strong background in event planning and logistics
- Capable of performing general maintenance and physical tasks
- Follows instructions effectively and works well independently or as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a professional, approachable demeanor
- Thrives under pressure in fast-paced environments; adept at multitasking
- Eager to learn and continuously improve
- Knowledge of WHMIS regulations
- First Aid and CPR certification (asset)
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
