6th PI/UT/CITA Workshop (CIAR Cosmology & Gravity Focus Group)
Also sponsored by the Cosmology and Gravity Program of the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research
This mini-workshop will be the next of an ongoing series of one-day meetings between researchers at Perimeter, CITA and University of Toronto. These meetings are held to share new ideas and encourage interactions in our common fields of interest: superstrings, cosmology, particle theory and quantum gravity.
The meeting will be held in the fourth floor seminar room of the Perimeter Institute on Monday April 11th. As usual, the format of the meeting will be a series of short 30-minute talks to seed informal discussion. The seminars will start at 11:30am -- refreshments will be available starting at 11:00am.
Speakers:
- Anupam Mazumdar (NORDITA): Constraints on string scale and coupling from non-Gaussianity
- Koenraad Schalm (Columbia): Cosmological effective actions imply new physics in the CMB
- Ewan Stewart (KAIST/CITA): Modular Cosmology
- Gary Shiu (Wisconsin/PI): What is String Phenomenology?
- Yuri Levin (CITA): LIGO -- Astronomical Observatory and Physics Playground
- Panel on Precision Cosmology (Three short 10 min presentations):
- J. Sievers (CITA): News from CBI
- S. Majumdar (CITA): w from LSS
- D. Podolsky (CITA): EOS in very early universe
