Solar System for Grade 9 Science and Math

This interactive workshop will introduce Perimeter Institute's newest resource, Patterns in the Solar System. Participants will go through two of its inquiry-based student activities and experience them firsthand. The first activity explores four properties of Earth—its shape, spin, orbit around the Sun, and tilt—and the evidence for them. The second activity investigates observations that led scientists to shift from an Earth-centred model of the solar system to a Sun-centred model. All the activities in the resource are aimed at students who are around 14 years old.
