COVID-19 Safety Measures at Perimeter Institute

Perimeter’s safety regulations are guided by science, implemented to protect the health and well-being of Perimeter members, their families, and the broader community.

Effective October 1, 2021, Perimeter Institute implemented a COVID Immunization Policy. It is the policy position of Perimeter to require all employees, students, volunteers, contractors, and visitors to the Institute to become fully immunized against COVID-19, as recommended by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Provincial Health Officer. Perimeter will work with employees, students, and volunteers that are unable to receive the vaccine due to medical reasons or creed/religious belief to develop and implement an appropriate accommodation. (Please note: Accommodations will not be made for visitors or contractors).

Working at Perimeter

Perimeter’s building is reopening gradually in accordance with directions from the provincial government and Public Health. Researchers, students, and staff are returning to the building in a phased-in approach, with the safety of the community remaining the highest priority.

When entering the building, all residents must comply with the COVID Immunization Policy, continue to fill out the daily COVID Screening Form, and follow all the posted safety protocols. Free, onsite rapid testing is available twice a week near Perimeter’s reception desk, and all are encouraged to take advantage of this service.

Perimeter residents can find more detailed information on the Institute’s intranet (PION).
