Smith, an adventurer and professor of anthropology at Portland State University, is the third speaker in the 2013/14 season of the Perimeter Institute Public Lecture Series, presented by Sun Life Financial. His talk, "Interstellar Voyaging: An Evolutionary Transition," will link our knowledge of human pre-history to the prospect of colonizing space.
