Explore the universe in stunning IMAX 3D at Perimeter May 16 and 18
Tickets available May 1st at 9:00 am.
Perimeter’s theatre will be transformed for a 3D journey through the forefront of science on May 16 and 18 during screenings of Secrets of the Universe, a 3D movie about the scientific quest to understand nature's building blocks.
The film was co-produced by Perimeter and partly filmed at both the Institute and CERN. It takes viewers inside the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) with stunning 3D animations and graphics depicting particle collisions.
Secrets of the Universe follows scientist Manuel Calderon de la Barca Sanchez to the LHC, where he works with a global team to re-create the conditions at the birth of the universe.
The sweeping, 3D giant-screen adventure immerses audiences in the greatest mysteries of our time – puzzles spanning from the infinitesimal to the infinite — and introduces the brilliant minds seeking to unravel them.
Tickets for the screenings will be available May 1, 2023 – click here to pre-register for the event.
About PI
Perimeter Institute is the world’s largest research hub devoted to theoretical physics. The independent Institute was founded in 1999 to foster breakthroughs in the fundamental understanding of our universe, from the smallest particles to the entire cosmos. Research at Perimeter is motivated by the understanding that fundamental science advances human knowledge and catalyzes innovation, and that today’s theoretical physics is tomorrow’s technology. Located in the Region of Waterloo, the not-for-profit Institute is a unique public-private endeavour, including the Governments of Ontario and Canada, that enables cutting-edge research, trains the next generation of scientific pioneers, and shares the power of physics through award-winning educational outreach and public engagement.
