One can study a field theory by its algebra of observables. In this framework, Costello and Paquette relate types of duality of field theories to a duality of algebras called Koszul duality. Although there is not yet a full theory of Koszul duality for the factorization algebras that appear as observables, one can understand this duality in the topological case: Koszul duality for algebras over the little n-disks operad E_n. I'll discuss features of Koszul duality for E_n (and more general operads) and possible physical interpretations of these. I'll also mention how these properties interact with work of Ayala-Francis relating Koszul duality to Poincaré duality of the spacetime manifold.
