Perimeter Institute’s Black Hole Bistro is seeking a talented and reliable individual to fill a part-time dishwasher position working daytime hours Monday through Friday.

The Black Hole Bistro is a private retreat located inside Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics which operates for resident scientists, visiting researchers, and conference and workshop guests, who quite often continue their discussions and collaborations over a fine meal. 

Some of the most exciting research at the Institute is based on the study of black holes; consequently, the Black Hole Bistro was a fitting name and unanimous hit. It provides a comfortable getaway from research offices and serves as a focal point for entertaining guests. Cuisine is structured around fresh local produce and adapted to fit an international palate. Classic recipes are updated with contemporary ingredients and inspiration. 

Part-Time Dishwasher

Applicants must be self-motivated individuals, able to follow instructions, maintain safety protocol and work efficiently as part of a team, with a willingness to learn and refine new skills. The position entails, but is not limited to: 

  • Clean kitchen equipment and cooking utensils
  • Wash dishes
  • Sweep, mop, and clean kitchen
  • Clean equipment after use
  • Organize, label, and keep track of prepared foods
  • Receive, organize, and put away deliveries
  • Practice safe food handling and preparation techniques
  • All other related duties as required or requested
