Param is a Distinguished Research Fellow working on the broad interface of cosmology and quantum gravity. He obtained his PhD in high energy aspects of gravity and cosmology as a CSIR research fellow at the Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA) in Pune in 2004. He was a postdoctoral researcher in quantum gravity and cosmology at the Institute for Gravitation and the Cosmos, the Pennsylvania  State University. 

Research Interests

Param has primary research interests on the interface of cosmology and quantum gravity including the physics of the early universe, observational signatures and resolution of singularities. His recent work focuses on application of loop quantum gravity to cosmological models which suggests that the big bang singularity may be replaced by a big bounce at the Planck scale. More recently, it was shown that resolution of singularities is generic in the isotropic and homogeneous models of loop quantum cosmology.
