Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Providing pedagogical expertise and leadership in the creation of products of the highest quality for students from grades five to eight by sharing knowledge to ensure products will be embraced by the largest possible audience
Working effectively both independently and as part of a team to create exceptional quality resources and programs
Consultants will take the lead on development of design and content creation for: in-class resources, web-based student activities (e.g. interactive computer simulations), assessment materials, etc.
Key Requirements:
Ontario certified teacher with elementary teaching qualifications for junior and/or intermediate grades
Minimum five years teaching experience
Publishing and/or educational resource development experience
Effective written and oral communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills and team building experience
Experience dealing with at-risk students including creating lessons
Qualification in special education
Experience using technologies in the classroom such as interactive computer simulations
Additional Details:
General hours of work are based on a 37.5 hour work week
Additional hours of work, including evenings and weekends, beyond the standard work week may be required during activities and special events
Some travel will be required
