2021 Tenure-track Faculty Positions in Quantum Matter

Perimeter Institute invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position (equivalent to the level of assistant professor) in theoretical quantum matter physics. Exceptional candidates may also be considered for a tenured senior faculty position.

Perimeter Institute welcomes applications from outstanding individuals working on quantum condensed matter, highly entangled systems, quantum criticality, topological phases, non-equilibrium dynamics, synthetic quantum matter, and all related fields. This position is part of the Quantum Matter Initiative at Perimeter. The successful applicant will play a leading role in the growth of Perimeter's efforts in quantum matter and in integrating these activities with other related research areas such as machine learning, quantum fields and strings, quantum foundations, quantum information, and mathematical physics. As part of the above initiative, Perimeter is also searching to fill a tenure-track faculty position in quantum information theory.

Perimeter Institute is a leading global centre for fundamental research in theoretical physics. It is home to world-class research efforts in condensed matter theory, cosmology, mathematical physics, quantum fields and strings, quantum foundations, quantum gravity, quantum information, and particle physics. The Institute offers an exceptional research environment and is currently staffed with 23 faculty and 19 associate faculty members, as well as 63 postdoctoral fellows, 43 Distinguished Visiting Research Chairs, and 56 Visiting Fellows. The Institute’s very active visitor, seminar, conference, and workshop programs attract over 1,000 visitors each year.
